KSI Calls Kwara Gov’s Attention To Deplorable Condition Of Roads In Isin, Ifelodun

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has been implored as a matter of urgency to give optimum priority to road development in Isin and Ifelodun local government areas of the state.
One of the concerned citizens of the state and a card carrying member All Progressives Congress (APC) Honorable Kareem Saheed Idowu (KSI) also known as Olomoh made the appeal in a statement on Sunday.
Honorable KSI lamented that the condition of the roads connecting these communities are in critical state, and the impact on the local population cannot be overstated.
According to him, the rural communities affected include Edidi, Alla, Oponda, Opega, Kajola-Owode Alla, Odo-Eku, Owode, Oree, Agbeku, Ajilete, Araromi, Ekudaji, and Agunjin.
He noted that these 13 communities rely heavily on these roads for transportation, trade, and access to essential services.
“The total distance of the roads in need of attention is approximately 29 kilometers, a relatively short stretch that, if developed, could significantly enhance the quality of life for thousands of residents”
Honorable KSI maintained that the poor state of these roads poses numerous challenges, hampers economic activities, increases transportation costs, and limits access to healthcare and education.
He added that farmers struggle to transport their goods to markets, and students face difficulties traveling to schools.
“Moreover, during the rainy season, many of these routes become nearly impassable, isolating communities and exacerbating their challenges”

The APC member said investing in these roads is not just about improving infrastructure but about empowering the people of Isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas.
“Improved roads will facilitate economic growth, enhance mobility, and promote social cohesion. It is a crucial step toward ensuring that these communities are not left behind in the development agenda of Kwara State” Olomoh said.
He however urged Governor Abdulrazaq to consider this plea and take action to address the pressing issue, nothing that this could pave the way for a brighter future for the communities.
