Ekiti State Govt Recruits More Personnel Into Amotekun To Beef Up Security

Recruitment into the Amotekun Corps, Agro-Marshals, and Anti-Grazing Task Force has begun in Ekiti State.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Ekiti state on Security Matters, Brig-Gen Ogundana Ebenezer (Rtd.) made this known to news men in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.

Brig-Gen Ebenezer (Rtd.) said that over 500 personnel recruitment process, which began in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, was part of efforts to further enhance the security of lives and property across the state.

He noted that the recruitment is geared towards reinforcing the state’s ability to curb criminal activities, protect farmers as well as enforce anti-grazing laws effectively.

The Special Adviser described the exercise as a proactive step by Governor Biodun Oyebanji to step up security of lives and property, government infrastructures and agricultural development.

Ogundana also explained that the screening exercise and the recruitment process for the new personnel were being carefully considered for local knowledge and familiarity with the terrain, stressing that deploying security personnel who were well familiar with their environment would greatly improve surveillance and intelligence gathering.

He said that after the screening exercise, all the successful candidates would undergo comprehensive training to ensure that they were fully ready and equipped to tackle the state’s security challenges effectively and professionally.

He said that the young men who turned up for the exercise came from across all the local government areas of the state, with input from their community leaders.
