ITF Training: Veritable Tool In Strengthening SIWES Program – Kwara Poly Rector

‎The just concluded training organized by Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for SIWES Coordinators has been described as a significant step in strengthening the SIWES programme and empowering future graduates to become successful contributors to the Nigerian economy.

‎Kwara State Polytechnic Rector, Engineer Abdul Mohammed made this known during a one-day training held at the polytechnic auditorium.

‎The Rector, who was represented by the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Felicia Awolola lauded the Industrial Training ITF for training SIWES Coordinators of the Polytechnic on Effective Administration and Supervision of Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) students in the 21st century.

‎Engineer Mohammed disclosed that the training would equip SIWES Coordinators with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively guide and support students during their vital four-month industrial attachment.

‎While urging participants to ensure a productive and beneficial experience, He promised the SIWES unit more assistance whenever required to ensure the success of the programme.

‎In her remarks, the Area Manager, ITF Ilorin area office, Mrs. Temitayo emphasized the organization’s commitment to fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurial skills among students.

‎She disclosed that the ITF’s aim was to equip institutions of higher learning with the tools to produce graduates who can excel and compete on a level playing field, adding that the strategic approach is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the realities of the workforce.

‎Earlier in his address of welcome, the Director, SIWES Unit, Engineer Jimoh Ahmed who thanked the Management for its continued support to the unit, urged participants to see the training as an opportunity to refine their roles in shaping the next generation of professionals.

‎The highlight of the event was the presentation of an Award of Excellence to the Rector in recognition of his continued support and dedication to the advancement of education and practical training within the Polytechnic.
