Eidul Kabir: Avoid Reckless Driving – Kwara Govt Warns Transporters
Transporters in Kwara state have been warned to avoid reckless driving to ensure safety of commuters as the Eidul Kabir festivities approaches.
The state Commissioner for Transportation, Lafia Aliyu Korasabi gave the warning in a statement released on Wednesday by the ministry’s press secretary, Babatunde Alabere.
According to the statement, Korasabi calls for maximum caution against acts that could hinder peaceful celebrations.
While emphasizing that reckless driving could lead to devastating consequences, including loss of lives and property, the Commissioner urges transporters to promote a culture of responsible driving and reduce the incidence of road accidents.
He also notes that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq places high premium on the safety of citizens of the state, and rallied for the cooperation of all transporters to complement government efforts by obeying traffic rules and regulations.

Korasabi warns against overloading, over speeding, use of vehicles without adequate road worthiness, among other traffic violations, which sometimes cause road accidents.
He maintains that the Ministry’s traffic management agents will continue to be on guard at every strategic point to allow hitch free movements of commuters during and after the Eid celebrations.
Similarly, the Commissioner encourages commuters to shun boarding vehicles at road side parks and garages, popularly known as “soole”, which could be highly dangerous, adding that only well-defined and duly registered garages should be used for safety of their lives and property.
