KWSG Commends Kwara Poly’s Initiatives, Pledges More Assistance To Boosting Academic Excellence

Management of Kwara State Polytechnic has been commended for its efforts in enhancing educational standards and various initiatives.

The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saa’datu Modibbo Kawu gave the commendation during her official visit to the institution, marking her first trip to the Polytechnic since her redeployment to the Ministry of Tertiary Education.

The Commissioner who expressed admiration for the management’s efforts in running the institution, pledged its continued support to the premier tertiary institution in the State.

She highlighted that the Polytechnic’s commercial farming and smart agriculture initiative is a notable achievements.

The Commissioner also pledged the state government’s unwavering support for the Polytechnic in its pursuit of academic excellence, assuring that the institution would receive assistance whenever needed.

While responding to the two significant challenges of land encroachment and funding constraints raised by the Rector, Engineer Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, the Commissioner assured the management team of government commitment to addressing the land encroachment issues which she said threatens the Polytechnic’s expansion and future development.

She also assured government support to the institution in order to continue to meet accreditation standards and provide quality education to its students.

Earlier in his remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Engineer Abdul Jimoh Muhammed who appreciated the Commissioner’s visit, emphasized the pressing need for financial assistance, particularly during accreditation exercises.

The visit ended with a tour of the Polytechnic’s commercial farm, Poultry farm, and Entrepreneurship Development Centre where the Commissioner had the opportunity to engage with the staff, further reinforcing the state government’s dedication to investing in its tertiary institutions and supporting their vital role in the state’s progress.
