NAPWPD Honors Chief Ajileye With Media Inclusive Award, Calls For Inclusive Society
Ilorin, Kwara State – Chief Olusegun Ajileye, of Radio Nigeria, Harmony FM, has been honored with the prestigious “Media Inclusive Award” by the National Association of Persons With Physical Disabilities, Kwara State Chapter in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
While accepting the award, Chief Ajileye expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, the National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Kwara State Chapter, and the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development for recognizing his efforts in promoting disability inclusion and awareness.
”I am truly humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award. I want to assure you that this award is not just a recognition of my past efforts, but also a motivation to do more for humanity. I promise to continue using my media platforms as an advocacy tool to promote more disability inclusion and awareness in our society,” Chief Ajileye said.
He reiterated his commitment to working tirelessly to ensure that the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities are protected and promoted.
”I believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their abilities. I will continue to use my voice to amplify the concerns of persons with disabilities and to advocate for a more inclusive society,” he added.
The award ceremony was attended by stakeholders in the disability sector, government officials, and media practitioners, such as Mr. Oyeyemi Adekola of O FM, Ilorin, Mr. Habeeb Bello of Plus Radio, Ilorin among others, who all came together to celebrate Chief Ajileye’s outstanding contributions to promoting disability inclusion and awareness.
Meanwhile, National Association of Persons With Physical Disabilities, Kwara State Chapter has called for more reflection to remember and to renew collective resolve towards a healthier and more inclusive society.
Chairman of the Association, Comrade Muftau Oleshin made the call in Ilorin during an event to mark the world polio day 2025, themed “End Polio, Every Child, Every Vaccine, Everywhere “
According to him, polio is not just a story of Statistics, but personal story of strength and faith in God Grace for people living with physical disabilities.
The Chairman expressed gratitude to the executive Governor of kwara state, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for his visionary and inclusive leadership
Comrade Muftau noted that theme for this year’s occasion is not just a statement but a commitment affirming that though Nigeria had been certified polio free but vigilance must remain strong to ensure every child is being vaccinated across the country.
