Peter Obi Allegation: Lagos State Govt Denies Involvement In Property Demolition
Lagos State Government has clarified that it did not carry out any demolition has claimed by the Labour party presidential candidate in the last general elections, Peter Obi.
The state Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso gave the clarification in a statement released to newsmen.
Mr Omotoso notes that Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) under the supervision of Dr. Olajide Babatunde, Special Adviser, eGIS & Urban Development, has confirmed that the agency was not involved in the demolition.
The statement expresses dismay that Mr. Peter Obi could made such allegations without verifying the facts.

Mr. Peter Obi had earlier alleged the state government for demolishing a property belonging to his brother.
The statement maintains that Lagos State Government is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
”We will not tolerate any acts of lawlessness or violations of extant laws. Any individual or group found involved in such acts will be brought to justice”
It also urges the public to disregard Mr. Peter Obi’s claims and be rest assured that the Lagos State Government will continue to work tirelessly to maintain law and order in the state and will not be swayed by baseless allegations or attempts to discredit the state’s efforts.
The statement notes that Lagos State Government welcomes everyone to live and work in the state, and assures all residents it’s ocontinued commitment to their safety and well-being.
It adds that it has directed the Permanent Secretary, Office of Urban Development, Architect Gbolahan Owodunni Oki to request a full investigation by the Lagos State Building Control Agency into the matter.
