We Can’t Be At Loggerheads With Executive Arm – Senator Kalu

‎Lawmaker representing Abia North at the Nigeria’s National Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu says the legislature and executive arms of government in the country can not afford to be at loggerheads as a mature country.

‎

‎Senator Kalu made this statement while featuring on a television interview on Monday.

‎

‎He added that for the interest of Nigerians, the legislature have the mechanism to safeguard any fight and there are a lot of bills that have been  sent back.

‎

‎Kalu, while responding to the popular tag by many Nigerians as “rubber stamp” noted that the National Assembly is not a ‘rubber-stamped’ one, as every law passed by lawmakers must have passed through due process.

‎

‎On the state of the nation’s economy, the former Abia state governor said that the present economy being run by the presidency cannot survive without borrowing from the international economic system.

‎

‎”For the nation to move on, we must borrow from the outside world; otherwise, the nation would collapse” He added.

‎

‎He said, “If this economy did not borrow, it would collapse, that’s the truth”
